Social Media Development

With so many ways to connect online—blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.—business owners often wonder if they’re being social enough. Social media requires a certain amount of creativity and energy to keep content fresh and consistent. The most common social media mistakes businesses commit are not posting often enough (or not at all), only posting updates about themselves, and not asking their audience questions.

To Facebook, or not to Facebook? What’s the point of having a fan page if you’re not working hard to share quality updates and resources or gain followers? So many brand pages post selfishly, only updating about the promotions they have going on. I love being challenged with the task of increasing engagement on Facebook. It’s all about tapping into the interests of your audience and asking good questions. Also, think about the contacts  you already have. If your company maintains a healthy email base, consider sharing your news with a regular eNewsletter.

A lot can be accomplished by outsourcing some of the on-going maintenance. As a content counselor, I’m happy to step in and fulfill your mission of starting conversations with consumers! Contact JLB PR at 443-837-6796 or Jennifer@jlbpr.com for a proposal and the chance to brainstorm ideas to jump start your communications outreach.
